We are aware that Arete and much of the running industry is a majority white community, and we aim to better represent our diverse cities. In 2020, we formed the Arete Community Inclusion Committee (ACIC). The ACIC consists of Arete leaders and members who volunteer to meet regularly to discuss how to better cultivate diversity within Arete and our running community. In addition, we hired Tiffany Martin of TKMartin Consulting to serve as our ACIC Leader and Diversity & Inclusion Consultant. Tiffany assists Arete in incorporating inclusive membership practices and putting community initiatives into action.
If you are interested in supporting the ACIC’s initiatives or being a part of the ACIC conversations and action steps, please email Mary for more details.
